Sarah Jane Elek, born May 12, 1987, passed away on April 16, 2022, after a long battle with illness. She died peacefully, listening to music with her sister. Her family is grieving beyond words. She was a strong, funny, loud, loving, and compassionate woman who cared deeply for her son, fiancé, friends, and family. She loved animals, sunshine, rocking out, and those bum Cleveland Browns. We are grateful for the time we had with her and for the steady stream of friends and family who came to see her while she was in the hospital. Sarah is survived by her son Hunter, grandmother Lillian Hardy, mother Jane Hardy (Willard Moore), father Danny, brother Eric (Michelle Elek), sister Windy Cook (Ed Cook), brother Russ (Sarah Heiss), fiancé Justin Brown, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who share in her loss. Sarah was a private person; in alignment with Sarah’s wishes, the family will not hold calling hours but will hold a small ceremony for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations to her son Hunter Elek can be dropped off at the Geneva branch of Huntington Bank, care of Windy Cook. Donations to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League or to Glenbeigh Hospital & Outpatient Center are also appreciated.
