Ansel J. (A.J.) Pierce, 79, of Geneva, passed away at home in his wife's arms on Friday, March 26, 2021 due to complications from a stroke.
He was born November 9, 1941 in Geneva, the son of the late Ancil A. Pierce and Christine F. Frabotta.
In 1960 he graduated from Geneva High School and went to receive his Bachelors Degree from Findlay College in 1965 and his Masters Degree from Bowling Green in 1968. He taught for three years in Findlay and then spent the next 30 years with Madison Local Schools working as an Elementary Administrator before retiring in 1998.
A.J. loved sports, anything that had to do with a ball he was good at. He loved playing golf, especially with his friends Rick and Tom.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen whom he married April 5, 1996 at Geneva United Methodist Church; his children, Lisa S. Pierce-Burgett, A. John Pierce (Rosemary), Tony Valardo, Kristina Terrasi, and Kelley Heckman (Timothy); 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Brown (Doug); In Laws, Russel and Idabelle Kelley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Jesse L. Burgett.
Due to Covid, a private family service will be held, with a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Memorial Fund at Geneva United Methodist Church, 89 S. Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041, where A.J. was proud to be a member.
