Betty Marie Hough

Betty Marie (Stevens) Hough, 93, passed away on April 27, 2026. She was born on April 23, 1933, in Jefferson, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph Leighton Stevens and Lillian Agnes (Evans) Stevens.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Jefferson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1951. She was the proud mother of five children. On June 3, 1978, Betty married Larry Hough. Together they shared nearly 48 years of marriage.

Betty was devoted to her faith and attended Jefferson Church of the Nazarene throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty prioritized her family above all else. She always remembered the birthdays and anniversaries of her loved ones. Betty would commemorate their special moments with a cheery phone call. She enjoyed reading and following Cleveland sports teams, especially the Tribe. She also volunteered her time with the American Red Cross and her local Board of Elections.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Leighton and Lillian; her sister, Clara (Dick) Wirth, and her daughter, Denise (Mike) Smith. 

She is survived by her husband, Larry; her sisters, Frances (John) Wilson, Shirley (Phil) Greenberg, and Joyce (Carl) Stokes; her brothers, Herman (Jean) Stevens, Larry (Sharon) Stevens, and Richard (Nancy) Stevens; her children, Donald (Laurie) Locy, David (Alison) Locy, Steven (Jackie) Locy, and Lori (Peter) Maraldo; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
