Betty Arlene Pelton, 90, of Austinburg, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Jefferson Healthcare.
She was born March 1, 1934, in East Trumbull, Ohio to Clarence and Gladys Tilton and graduated from Rock Creek Local High School in May 1952. On February 12, 1954, she married Lyle Pelton in Austinburg, Ohio and together they shared 38 years of love and memories until his passing in April 1992.
Betty retired in 1996 from Glastics in Jefferson and in her free time loved camping, playing cards and being with all her family.
She is survived by her children, Richard Pelton of Viginia, Jean Gawrys of Geneva, Kenneth Pelton of Ashtabula, Diane Hensley of Saybrook, Mark (Julie) Pelton of Madison and Kathleen (Bob) Brown of Austinburg; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way; sister, Joan Sheldon.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Pelton; parents, Clarence and Gladys Tilton; grandchildren, Rinda Pelton and Aaron Streets; siblings, Geraldine Pyne Matusky; Marjorie Jacobs, Lillian Simpson, Helen Knapp and Norman Tilton.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:30pm Monday, September 23, 2024 at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00am until the time of service. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva. A fellowship luncheon will follow the burial at Austinburg Hall, 2794 OH-307, Austinburg, Ohio 44010.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at Jefferson Healthcare and Bella Care Hospice for the special care and kindness given to Betty on her final journey.
