Betty Lou "Butlou" (Hotchkiss) Slover, 61, of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with COPD.
She was born December 5, 1961, in Painesville, Ohio, the daughter of Ted and Alice Hotchkiss and graduated from Mentor High School. On October 31, 2012, she married Eugene Slover, Jr., and together they have shared more than 39 years of love and memories.
Betty's grandchildren were her world and she loved crocheting blankets for them. As a child, Betty belonged to the Mentor Headlands Youth Group and was raised playing baseball and kept a love for baseball her whole life. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to casinos.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Slover, Jr.; daughter, Holly (AJ) Murphy; step-children, Geno Falls and Angie Bittner; grandchildren, Brayden Murphy, Kelsey Murphy, and Caleb Bittner; siblings, Barb Morrow, Diane Lardomita, Shirley Woods, Ted Hotchkiss, Jr., and Tammy (Greg) Bever; many nieces and nephews including Brian, Brandyn, and Little Dan; special friends, Ruth Olinger, Mary Washington, and Cindy (Tim) Hounshell.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church, 4448 North Ridge Road (Rt. 20), Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio, assisted the family with arrangements.
