Betty E. Baker Thomas, 88, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Lantern of Saybrook. She was born June 18, 1936, in Geneva, OH., to parents Edmunds and Eleanor (Maltbie) Baker. Betty attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and studied at Kent State University Ashtabula Campus. On June 10, 1962, Betty married Richard L. Thomas at Christ Episcopal Church in Geneva, OH. She worked for the Smithsonian Institute as a Scientific Illustrator, the Geneva Free Press as a reporter/photographer, and CEI as a records analyst. She also owned multiple businesses with her late husband in Geneva on the Lake and Geneva. Betty was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church, taught Sunday School for many years, was a Girl Scout Leader, and was a rescuer of feral cats. She is survived by her children, Brooke Berrier (Dan) and Richard L. Thomas Jr. (Amy), and granddaughter, Devan Annick. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Thomas Sr.; parents, Edmunds and Eleanor G. (Maltbie) Baker; grandparents, Rev. Albert Baker, Harry and Sarah (Maloney) Baker; and brothers, Thomas Baker and Henry Baker.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at New Life Assembly of God, 1961 Lafevre Rd, Geneva, OH 44041. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church, and all are welcome.
