Beverly Louise Mead, 94, of Andover, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Born on June 11, 1931, to Sullivan Waters and Francis (Moschell) Waters, Beverly was a lifelong resident of the Andover area and a proud graduate of Andover High School. In June of 1949, she married Maurice "Gramps" Mead, with whom she shared many devoted years until his passing.
Beverly was a devoted farm wife, a certified lay speaker in the United Methodist Church, and a 75-year member of the Ohio State Grange. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was affiliated with God's House of Williamsfield. Beverly was a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She had a deep love for reading and crocheting, generously giving away countless handmade afghans, baby booties, and bonnets to family, friends, and those in need. She also enjoyed bowling and was well known for her warm hospitality. Many people happily invited themselves over for her pancakes and homemade pie, knowing they would always be welcomed with a smile.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice "Gramps" Mead; her parents, Sullivan and Francis (Moschell) Waters; her son, Larry Gene Mead; her grandson, Bryon Scott Mead; and her siblings, Chester Paul, Margaret Paul Giordan, Hiram Waters, and Albert Waters.
She is survived by her children, Leslie (Lynn) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Lonnie (Angela) of Andover, Ohio; her grandchildren, Daron Mead, Laura (Shawn) Jeffrey, Jennifer (Johnny) Mead, Jody (Amy) Drake, Danny (Claire) Drake, Rusty (Valerie) Drake, Tennie (Chad) Hughes, Lonnie II (Katie) Mead, and Ashlee (Shelby) Logan. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Terry Neely, Nannette (Michael) Bowen, Dalton Neely, Zeke Jeffrey, Josiah Sandoval, Kaydin and Miriah Hughes, Kooper, Kaisyn, and Kamdin Mead; and great great-grandchildren, Miles Neely and Milee Bowen.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3410 US-6, Andover, Ohio from 3:30pm-5:00pm. A service will begin at 5:00pm with dinner to follow at 6:00pm. Burial will take place at Cherry Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to God's House of Williamsfield, 7998 OH-7, Williamsfield, Ohio 44093.
