Obituary

Bruce Lavel Cooper Sr., age 68, of Chardon, OH., passed away quietly and peacefully on Friday, October 7th, 2022. Bruce was born April 20, 1954, in Cleveland, OH., to parents Bert Cooper and Lucille (Fisher) Cooper. Bruce had a great childhood and growing up his closest cousins Anita and Annetta were like sisters to him and sometimes stayed with his family. Bruce was an only child but had very close childhood and neighborhood friends including Tito, Rudy, Chris, and Charlie. Bruce was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, class of '81. He was also a walk-on for The Ohio State University football team. After graduating, Bruce married his love Robin Echols Cooper on September 5th, 1981, at the Echols family barn in Chardon, Ohio. Bruce and Robin created a beautiful life together and they had three amazing children. Bruce loved his job and going to work every day. He had a long career in the field of multi-site management, which was a perfect fit for his love of tools and tinkering. He was a true Cleveland sports fan and loved rooting for the Browns and Cavs with his family. He also enjoyed being outdoors working in his yard and frequently visited the lake or the water with his wife to watch the sunset. Bruce loved exotic plants and his beloved pets very much. He was fond of his family and enjoyed traveling on the train for family trips and to support his mom's bridge tournaments with his core cousins (Jimmy (Ida) Annetta, Anita, Gloria, Elise, and Monica). Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Robin Echols-Cooper, his children; Bruce Cooper Jr., Ryan Cooper, and Chelsea (Jacob) Bartling, and his beloved grandchildren, Londyn Moffett Cooper, and Louis Moffett Cooper with another grandchild due soon. He is preceded in death by his parents.
