Cathy Elaine Beres (nee Jenkins), 60, of Mentor, Ohio passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at TriPoint Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born September 18, 1962 in Painesville, Ohio to Delores Jenkins Rochefort and Robert Jenkins. In 1980, she graduated from Mentor High School and later married Gary Beres.
Cathy was employed at the RediGo in Fairport Harbor for many years, where she touched the lives of all she met. She was a devoted caregiver to her mother, Delores, a "Mom" to Teddy, and a dog and hairless cat lover.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Beres of Madison, OH; children, Cherise Griffith, and Thomas "TJ" Spellman; Mother, Delores Rochefort; Special grandchildren, Jayme, Matthew, Nessa, Dougie, Lily, and Rodney; siblings, Lonnie "Bo" (Marilyn) Jenkins, and Darrell Jenkins. Cathy was loved by all of her family that included so many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. She will also be greatly missed by all of her friends.
Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Jenkins; siblings, Robert "Bobby" Jenkins, and Jeffrey Glen Jenkins.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 4756 Homewood Drive, Mentor, Ohio 44060.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the nurses (Beckie and Kim) and Palliative Care team (Kristen) at TriPoint Medical Center who provided excellent, compassionate care to Cathy in her last days.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
