Christy "Chris" Dale Tenney

Christy “Chris” Dale Tenney, 84, of Harpersfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.

Born on September 8, 1941, in Warren, Ohio, Christy was the son of Paul and Della Tenney. He graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1959 and went on to build a long and respected career in sales for DuBois Chemical for another 15 years. Even into his eighties, Christy continued working, retiring at the age of 84 from American Chemical.

Christy proudly served in the Army Reserves. Outside of work, he was a talented drummer who played in various country western bands throughout the years, most recently with the Fort Huntsburg Band. He was also an avid woodworker and antique collector who greatly enjoyed craftsmanship and history. Christy was a dedicated member of the Ohio Tool Collectors Association and the Society of American Period Furniture Makers.

Known for his generous heart and dependable nature, Christy was always willing to help and support his family and friends whenever they needed him. He took great pride in caring for those he loved and will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and willingness to lend a hand.

Above all, Christy was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Carolyn (Hall)Tenney; his children, his daughter-in-law, Judith Tenney, Cheri (Jerry) Caster, and Carla (Daniel) Noyes; his grandchildren, Quinten and Madeline Tenney, Kailyn and Colin Caster, and Eleanor and Edith Noyes; and his sister, Carlotta (Tom) Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Della Tenney, and his son, Chris Tenney.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Christy will be laid to rest at Harpersfield Cemetery.
