David Marshall Phillips

David Marshall Phillips, 73, of Meadville, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 21, 2026, at Meadville Medical Center.

Born on July 20, 1953, in Meadville, PA, he was the son of Marshall and Mary Phillips. A lifelong resident of the area, David graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School and went on to build a career as a skilled machinist. He was known for his strong work ethic, practical skills, and dedication to providing for his family.

On a cold January day in 1973, David married the love of his life, Marlene Belleza Phillips, in Meadville, PA. Together they shared more than five decades of marriage, raising a large and loving family and creating countless memories.

David enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing and had a talent for leatherworking and woodworking. He took pride in creating things with his hands and found joy in the outdoors. He was also steadfast in his beliefs and values and was a proud Republican. David was a member of the Catholic faith.

Above all, David treasured time spent with his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marlene Phillips; his children, Alex Phillips, David Phillips, Jason Phillips, Chris Phillips, Paul Phillips, Joe Phillips, and Angela Phillips; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Mary Phillips; and brother, Dan Phillips.

David will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his craftsmanship, his love of the outdoors, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
