Dawn M. (Cowell) Vandevender, 58, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

She was born February 25, 1965, in Ashtabula County, Ohio the daughter of Joseph Cowell and Barbara Gomolski.

Dawn worked 26 years for Ashtabula County Job and Family Services and was an avid Steeler's fan.

She is survived by her children, Tara Vandevender, Richard (Kayla) Vandevender, and Avery (Katie Wallace) Vandevender; grandchildren, Hayley (Devon Boles) McDaniel, Briana Sturgill, Adriana Sturgill, Kaiden Bradford, and Julia Smith; great-grandchildren, Oliviah Boles, and Devon Boles, jr; siblings, Gina (Lucky) Laughlin, Jill Toth, Gary Cowell, and Jason (Kim) Cowell; niece, Shawna (Todd) Whittaker; nephews, Reid Laughlin III, Joey (Kayla) Streets, and Devin Cowell; many great-nieces and nephews.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Joann) Cowell and Barbara (Norm) Gomolski; sister, Brenda Cowell, and brother, Johnny Cowell.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21 from 2 pm to 8pm at Friends in Christ Bible Fellowship Church located at 5807 Adams Ave; Ashtabula, OH 44004. There will be snacks all day for anyone wishing to come and go, but a potluck style dinner will be at 5pm. Friends, family, co-workers and anyone who knew and loved Dawn are welcome to attend. We ask that if you plan to come for dinner to please bring a dish to share. There will be a card box available for anyone wishing to extend condolences to the family.

Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road; Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
