Obituary

Deborah J. Leasure
1959 – 2025

Deborah J. Leasure, 65, originally from Ohio and a proud Florida transplant for the past 20 years, passed away on April 10, 2025.

Debbie spent her career helping people hear better, working in the hearing aid field — and if you knew her, you know she never hesitated to speak her mind loud and clear. She was known for her quick wit, stubborn streak, and that perfectly snarky sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, even on the worst days.

Family meant everything to Debbie. She loved spending time with her son, Robert D. Leasure III (Heather), and her beloved grandchildren, Alexandra Leasure, Tyler Leasure, and Addison Danewitz. She also shared a lifelong bond with her sisters, Nancy Travnik (Ray), Karen Schmoele (George), and Michelle Amato (Pete). Her cat, Pepper, was her constant companion and partner-in-crime.

Debbie found joy in crafting, painting, family vacations, and simply being surrounded by the people she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carole Caile and William Porter, and her twin daughters, Renee and Melissa Leasure. While she leaves a big hole here, we know there's a beautiful reunion happening with her daughters — a moment she's surely been waiting for.

A Celebration of Life is being planned and details will be shared with friends and family soon. Debbie lived life on her terms — with laughter, love, and a little bit of sass — and that's exactly how she'll be remembered. Lake Erie Cremation assisted the family with funeral arrangements, 1500 Harpersfield Rd., Geneva, 440-361-2273. www.lakeeriecrematory.com
