Obituary

Debra Jean Lewandowski, 66, of Geneva, OH, passed away on the morning of January 18,
2025. She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on May 29, 1958.
She was a fierce lover of all those she came upon in her life, whether family members, friends,
clients, pets, neighbors, or songbirds. She cherished her 4 grandchildren greatly, and she loved
spending time and planning games and play time with them. She would rarely be seen around
town or her home without her beloved dog, Toby, following behind her. In her heart, there was
always room for the well-being of others.
Debbie's lifelong passion was creating beautiful hair on the heads of many, many people. Over
the course of her 40-plus year career, she managed and owned many beauty shops in
Northeast Ohio, including Country Time Styling in Conneaut, Magic Mirror and Magic Mirror II,
both in Ashtabula. She considered her love of being in her beauty shop, having conversation
and coffee with her clients, her "social time.
"
Debbie's favorite place to be was at the cottage in Geneva-on-the-Lake, where her favorite time
of year was springtime, as she worked in her "Deb Shed,
" planting of her flower baskets and
many gardens. She always noted the arrival of the hummingbirds to her feeders. Debbie and
Tom were fond of day-trips and weekends to enjoy many places they wanted to see together.
Debbie married David Earl Johnson Sr. in 1987 and, together, they raised two children, David
Earl, Jr. and Deanna Audrey (Jeff) Offenberg and were divorced some years later. On June 15,
2013, Debbie married Thomas Lewandowski on a sunny day at a beautiful winery in Ashtabula
County. She is survived by her husband and children, along with four grandchildren, Tryden,
Trenton, Carson, and Jameson. Her greatest joys were the love of her husband Tom, and the
gift of being a mom and grammy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Bancroft and Marlene Hammond; her
step-father Leroy Hammond; her sister Donna R. (Bancroft) Green, and her two brothers,
Ronald Lee Bancroft and Lawrence Gene Bancroft.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday January 23, 2025 from 4–6pm at Lake Erie
Crematory and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd., Geneva, OH 44041.
