Denise Marie Childs

Denise Marie Childs, 66, of North Kingsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following a nearly six-year battle with Grade 4 brain cancer.

Denise was born December 9, 1959, in Geneva, Ohio, to Ken and Yvonne Brown. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1978 and Ohio Northern University in 1983.

On October 22, 1983, Denise married Dennis L. Childs in Glendale, Arizona. They shared many wonderful years together and built a life filled with family, friendship, travel, and countless memories.

Denise worked as a pharmacist at the Ashtabula Walmart for more than 20 years. She took great pride in her work and in the relationships she formed throughout her career.

Outside of work, Denise enjoyed traveling with close friends, vacationing in Arizona, watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers, and spending time in her garden. She especially enjoyed being a “softball mom,” traveling to tournaments, and supporting those she loved. Above all, Denise treasured her friendships and the people who made her life meaningful.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Dennis L. Childs; her children, Derrick Childs and Lauren (Justin) Burnett; her parents, Ken and Yvonne Brown; and her brother, Ken Brown Jr. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 5-7pm at The Winery at Spring Hill, 6062 South Ridge Rd West, Geneva, OH 44041.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Denise's memory to the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).
