Denise Elaine Kahler

Denise Elaine Kahler, age 70, of Rock Creek, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic.

She was born on September 19, 1955, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to the late Richard and Sharon McLaughlin. After graduating from high school, Denise attended Lakeland Community College where she studied Electrical Engineering.

On August 12, 1995, she married James Kahler and together they shared more than 26 years of love and memories before his sudden passing on February 17, 2022.

Denise worked for AIC Lighting and Plastics for 25 years where she was a production manager pursuing ISO and Quality Control certifications as well as employee management. In her free time, she loved her dog Luna and being outdoors in nature camping and birdwatching, especially in the Allegheny National Forest. She was a diehard Steelers fan and loved casino outings, but her greatest joy came from spending time with family and a good card game challenge with her cousin Rita who was like a sister to her.

She is survived by her children, Charles Foster and Shannon Foster; grandchildren, Tessa, Ellania, Seth, and Blake; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Iris, and Aurora; niece and nephews, Robert (Jaclyn) Snyder, Melissa (David) Wilson, Shawn (Renata) Snyder, Hayley (Zackary) Rall, Amanda McLaughlin, Ricky (Kyle) McLaughlin, Crystal Allen, Dustin (Jenna) McLaughlin, Michael Allen, and Dylan (Diana) McLaughlin; many step-nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; siblings, Barbara (Todd) Snyder-Carson, Shari McLaughlin, John (Dawn) McLaughlin, and Ricky (Doreen) McLaughlin.

Denise was preceded in death by her husband, James Kahler; parents, Richard and Sharon McLaughlin; grandparents, Clara (Congdon) and Adam Moxan, Bert and Cecelia Hannah, Earl and Irene (Congdon) Sohl, and Charles and Minnie McLaughlin; brother-on-law, Bob Snyder.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio 44041. The eulogy will be given by her cousin, Rita. Following the service, there will be a memorial luncheon held at 7274 Butternut Lane, Mentor, Ohio 44060 beginning at 4:00pm.
