Donajene Stowe (Burlingame), aged 77, of Jefferson passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 from natural causes following a brief illness. She was surrounded by loved ones gathered to share back the love she freely bestowed upon others and celebrate her reunion with her loving husband Ted after 17 years apart.
Donajene was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is survived by her sons Todd (Lora) of Dayton, Ohio and Troy (Fran) of Ripley, New York and four grandchildren – Kayla (Patrick) Stowe-Stands of Cleveland, Courtney Stowe of Rock Creek, Chase Stowe of Cleveland, and Rachael Stowe of Pittsburgh.
She is also survived by a brother Roscoe Burlingame of Ashtabula, Sanna (Frank) Slanina of Harpersfield, Annabelle (Bill) Clark of Dorset and Betty Reuschling (Keith Rippons) of Corrytown, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband Ted (Theodore), parents Donald and Annabelle Burlingame (Stone), and her brother Mike (Melvin) Burlingame.
While she was "Mom" to many, nothing in her life brought her more joy than her grandchildren. She lived to celebrate their lives, from their first breaths, through first days of school, various activities and eventually seeing all four earn degrees from college. If you've been lucky enough to stop by Dona's for coffee over the the past several years you may have been lucky enough to drink from her Miami University (Kayla), Kent State University (Courtney and Chase) or University of Pittsburgh (Rachael) coffee mugs – probably while she adorned a Grandmother of…sweatshirt.
Donajene also celebrated how her family included her in raising their four-legged family members – Martini, Bentley, Bernie, Zeus and Gizmo. The smiles she got from sitting with these extended family members could light up a room. Her love of family and friends was endless, and she found ways to celebrate those in her life every day.
In honoring her wishes, the family will not be having formal services. We will be celebrating her life with family and friends on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1pm-5pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3881, 133 S Spruce Street, Jefferson, OH 44047. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her memory to Ashtabula County Animal Protective League,
