Douglas Arnold

Douglas Arnold, 65, of Madison, Ohio, passed away at home on Sunday, August 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Doug was born on December 19, 1960, in Painesville, Ohio, to Richard and Barbara Arnold. He spent his life working hard, caring deeply for the people around him, and enjoying the simple things that made life worthwhile.

Doug was a skilled and hardworking roofer who spent many years in the trade, working with Arnold’s Roofing, Landmark Homes, and Harbor Construction. He took pride in his work and the skills he developed throughout his career.

Doug also had a longtime interest in martial arts and trained under Master Craig Clinton at the Koroshi School of Defense. Away from work, some of his favorite times were spent fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his dog, Mojo.

His faith was also an important part of his life. Doug was a Christian and attended Bible study at The Free Pentecostal Fellowship Church.

Doug is survived by his wife, Monica; his children, Joseph (Sunita), Jennifer (John), Justin, Joshua, and Brandi (Michael); his grandchildren, Alyiah, Natalie, Aiden, Isabella, Gabby, Elise, Ian, Aurora, Elle, Jiovanni, and Marshall; and his brother, Derek, along with other family members who were an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Barbara Arnold; his siblings, Richie, Cathy, Laura, Sandy, and Dale; and his granddaughter, Addison.

Doug’s life wasn’t without its challenges or mistakes, but it was a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, faith, and the belief that forgiveness is always possible. Those who loved him will remember the jokes, the fishing trips, the time spent outdoors, the conversations about God, and all of the ordinary moments that became lasting memories.

Doug was fortunate to have many close friends throughout his life, including Craig, Andy, Raymond, and many others whose friendship meant a great deal to him.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve and Dr. Jerry Bell for the care, compassion, and support provided to Doug and his family.

Doug will be laid to rest at North Madison Cemetery at a future date.
