Douglas Weisman, 75, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on May 12, 2026, at Carington Park in Ashtabula after a courageous battle with bone and brain cancer.
Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, Douglas was the son of Walter Weisman and Irene (Cappotto) Weisman.
Douglas earned his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force. During his military service, he worked as an airplane mechanic and served during the Vietnam era.
An avid golfer and devoted animal lover, Douglas found great joy spending time on the golf course and caring for animals.
Douglas is survived by his nieces and nephews, his aunt, Rose Ann Cappotto-Robison, and other loving family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Frank and Clara Cappotto. He was also preceded in death by his brother, August Vitalli.
Douglas will be remembered for his service to his country, his love of animals, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Silver Fur K-9 Rescue, 2900 Forman Rd, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
