Duane Arthur Woodruff, 80, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born December 8, 1942, in Warren, Ohio and graduated from Deming High School. He went on to attend Kent State University and received his Bachelors degree from Capital University. On July 10, 1964, he married Hannah Jo Eastlake in Andover, Ohio and together they shared almost 59 years of love and memories.
Duane was employed in banking for approximately 41 years and retired as Manager of the Geneva office of Andover Bank in 2007. He was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church where he served on the Finance Committee and sang in the Chancel Choir. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hannah Jo (Eastlake) Woodruff of Jefferson, Ohio; son, Col. Timothy Woodruff (Lesley) of El Paso, Texas currently deployed to Qatar; grandchildren, Ian Woodruff, Katherine "Katey" Woodruff, and Sara Jayne Woodruff all of El Paso, Texas; sisters, Linda (Dennis) Marr, Colleen (Mike) McCorkle, Virginia (Roger) Hosmer, and Kathy (Ron Chutas) Troyer.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucille Woodruff of New Lyme, Ohio; son, Gary Duane Woodruff (August 2022) of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; sisters, Rae Beals, and Carlie Murphy.
A visitation will be held on August 6, 2023 at Jefferson United Methodist Church 125 E. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio 44047, from 2-3PM with service to follow. There will be a meal at the church following the service.
In place of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Chancel Choir, Jefferson United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the Jefferson EMT's, Cleveland Clinic intensive care doctors and nurses, and Select Specialty Hospital (Cleveland) doctors and nurses.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
