Eddie Dean Tackett

Eddie Dean Tackett “Pooker”, 66, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus after a battle with cancer.

He was born on July 27, 1960, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Eddie and Kay Tackett, and attended Jefferson Area High School.

Eddie was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved camping, spending time outdoors, hiking, playing poker with family, couponing, and hanging out with friends. Above all, Eddie treasured the time he spent with the people he loved and the memories they created together.

Eddie is survived by his daughter, Tricia (Brian) McCoy; grandchildren, Kayden and Jaxon McCoy; brother, Michael Tackett; and his nieces and nephews, Joey, Julian (sis), Justin, Ashley, and Kristen. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Kay Tackett; daughter, Erica Tackett; grandparents, George and Martha (Newsome) Tackett and Frank and Imogene (Dunkle) Getce; and siblings, Joey Tackett, David “Shorty” Tackett, and Dale Tackett.

A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5-7pm at Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, OH 44041.
