Obituary

Edward "Ed" John Kukla, 67, of Geneva, Ohio passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
He was born December 4, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward L. and Charlotte V. (Bartz) Kukla.
Ed enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – camping under the stars, casting a line while fishing, woodworking, and getting his hands dirty working on anything with a motor. Whether it was fixing things around the house or tending to the farm, he was always ready to lend his skills. He treasured the time with his family and friends above all. A collector at heart, he gathered knives, eagle memorabilia, and just about anything he thought might come in handy one day – always prepared, always thoughtful.
He is survived by his children, Edward J. Kukla II (Margaret), James M. Kukla (Mary) and Charlotte L. Davis (Kukla); grandchildren, Margaret Ann Kukla, Edward J. Kukla III, Ian M. Cloonan, and Brandi L. Cloonan; sister, Lynn (David) Ihrig (Kukla); brother-in-law, Richard Satterlee.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Loretta "Lorry" (Kukla) Saterlee; step-grandson, Peyton J. Schroeder.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 336, 60 Chester Street, Painesville, Ohio on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2-7pm with a brief service at 3pm. The family asks that you please dress comfortably.
