Edward "Eddie" Wilks, Jr., 57, of Jefferson, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 2, 2024. Eddie was born August 23, 1966, in Ashtabula, Ohio to Edward P. Wilks Sr. and Grace E. Elliott. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School. He attended Eagleville Bible Church and had committed his life to the Lord.
On August 12, 2006, he married Debbie S. Wescoat and they united their two families as one. Together they shared over 20 years of love and memories - filled with traveling, goofy adventures, and so much laughter.
Eddie worked for 23 years at UPS before joining Ironworkers Local 17, where he has worked for the past 11 years. Eddie loved to play softball in his younger years and later loved coaching his boys in Little League. Eddie also enjoyed golfing, laying in the sun, mowing his lawn, bonfires, spending time with his family, and being the best peepaw to his "D", Bear, and Mady B.
Eddie was known to be loud when it came to his enthusiasm for the people he loved, but also quiet when it came to listening to them. He always entered the room with a warm smile and a firm handshake – greeting everyone he encountered. Eddie was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Debbie S. Wilks; his children, Brent Wilks, Brooke Wilks (Matt Tinsley), Ryan and Alaina Benedict, and Mikenzie Benedict (Braxton Babic); his grandchildren, Landon Wilks, Logan Wilks, and Madison Babic; his siblings, Vickie and Phil Johnson, Dana Knight, Jamie Wilks, John and Shannon Wilks, Barb Woodruff, Sue and Harry Eighmy, Lori and Mike Lingo, and Traci and Tony Lambert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Sue Wescoat; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Jethro.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward P. Wilks Sr. and Grace E. Elliott, and grandparents, Joseph and Betty Elliott.
