Erna "Anna" Hamper (Sandner), 59, of Rock Creek, Ohio, passed away in her sleep at home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Anna was born on October 27, 1965, in Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany, to parents Paul (deceased) and Marga Sandner. She grew up on a farm in the small village of Limbach, Germany where her love for animals began. Anna attended school in Germany where she graduated as an engineering assistant and married William J. Hamper IV on May 17, 1985, in Denmark. Soon after they welcomed their daughter Katharina (Nina). She worked for over 20 years as a locksmith and was affectionately known as "MacGyver" for her skills and resourcefulness. Anna enjoyed telling stories, taking care of her pigeons and other animals, crocheting, gardening, cooking, listening to Pink Floyd and showing her love with things she made by hand. She was very proud of her daughter who served in the Army, diligently sending weekly care packages during her deployments.

Anna is survived by her husband, William Jude Hamper IV; child, Katharina (Nina) Mills and Tyler Mills; grandchildren, Clark and Floyd Mills; mother, Marga Sandner; sister, Gerda Sandner; and brother, Hermann Sandner. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Sandner; and grandmother, Anna Seubert, who she had a special relationship with growing up. A celebration of her life will be held on September 21, 2025, from 1-4pm at the Rear Quarry picnic area in Euclid Creek Park, South Euclid, OH 44121.
