Ernest "Ernie" Evans, age 79, of Burton (formerly of Mentor), passed away on Monday, October 16th, 2023, at UH Geauga Hospital. Ernie was born on February 22, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Betty and Ernest A. Evans. He attended Mentor schools and graduated in 1962 from Mentor High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served our country. In 1975, Ernie married Mary Kathy Dike in Painesville, Ohio. Ernie loved to travel in the United States and find new and interesting places. He was always behind the camera taking pictures of the beautiful places he visited. Ernie is survived by his daughters, Melissa "Missy" Adkins (Chris), and Melanie Charow; his grandchildren, Carter and Aidan Morgan, Korbin Brunow, Lucas and Ellie Adkins, Joe and Daniel Galindo, Cynthia Martinez, Kortney Fromdahl, and Nevada Charow. He is also survived by his siblings, Patricia Tamburo, Steve Evans, and Mike (Tammy) Evans. Ernie is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Kathy Evans, his parents Ernest and Betty Evans, his brother Robert "Bob" Evans, and his brother-in-law Richard Tamburo.
