Etta Jane (Honeycutt) Marcum, age 84, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Hospice House from heart failure just two hours after her beloved husband of 65 years, Henry Lee Marcum passed away.
She was born January 1, 1937 in Dunnganon, Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Kate (Mann) Honeycutt. Jane graduated from Dunnganon High School and after graduation she married Henry Lee Marcum in Angola, Indiana on November 5, 1955 and together they shared over 65 years of love and memories.
Jane worked as a Lunch Aide in the Mentor School System and in her spare time she enjoyed attending Grace Baptist Church, gardening, reading, playing cards, and going to garage sales.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Marcum and Jeffrey Marcum; grandchildren, Doug Marcum, Rachel (Doug) Purrachio, and Riley Marcum; great-grandchild, Vander James Purrachio; siblings, Nancy Crook, Mattie Tirak, Gaye Renfro, and Glenn Honeycutt.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 65 years, Henry Lee Marcum; her parents, Carl and Mary Kate (Mann) Honeycutt; siblings, JoAnn Myers, and Bob Honeycutt.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. Jane will be laid to rest with her husband, Hank, in a private graveside service at Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
