Eugene A. Wheeler "Wheeler Dealer", 91, of Austinburg, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023.
Eugene was born December 24, 1931, in Mentor, Ohio to Charles and Agnes (Schoen) Wheeler. He served as a Marine Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Eugene was his own boss and owned a Used Car Dealership. He always claimed to "have the best job and best boss ever", and never had to punch a timeclock after 1963. He was always known as "The Wheeler Dealer, Mr. Wheeler, or Eugene". Eugene crossed the paths of many people in his life whom he called friends.
He is survived by daughters, Donna (Cliff) Moon, Cathy Fry, and Sandra (Billy) Owens; son, Eric (Jennifer) Wheeler; grandchildren, Christopher Wheeler of Painesville, April Fry of Mentor, Chantai Owens of Austinburg, Billy Ray Owens Jr. of Geneva, Breonna (Owens) Mike Schmidt of Geneva, and Ava Wheeler of Barberton; great-grandchildren, Chae Wilson Owens, Devin Owens, Anna Marie and Finn of Mentor, Dawson and Grant Wheeler, and Billie and Michel Schmidt. Also surviving are cousins, Dr. Joanna Schoen, and Marie Schoen.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agnes (Schoen) Wheeler; brothers, Robert Wheeler, Charles Wheeler Jr; sisters, Grace Wheeler, and Maryanne "Midge" (Sponge); and son-in-law, Bruce Fry.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday April 14, 2023, at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio.
