Floyd Ernest Lane, Jr., aka "Pops" or "Jr.", age 74, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 10, 2023, at his family home.
He was born January 30, 1949, in Conneaut, Ohio, to Floyd Ernest Lane, Sr. "Pappy" and Lillian (Lyons) Lane. On September 17, 1967, he married Brenda Whytsell and together they shared more than 55 years of love and memories. Jr. was a hardworking man and retired from Lou's Tire Mart in Ashtabula after 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, scrapping, and cookouts with his family.
Survivors include his wife of more than 55 years, Brenda Lane of Jefferson, Ohio; children, Melissa Long (Dan Case), Alice Lane (Bill Hammer), and Luann Adkins; grandchildren, Alexandria Beckwith, Brandon Streets, Dakota Adkins, Olivia Case, Trace Adkins, Stone Lane, Daylin Weatherbee, Skylar Weatherbee, and Drew Adkins; sister, Karen Light.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Floyd Ernest Lane, Sr. "Pappy" and Lillian (Lyons) Lane; son-in-law, Gary "Bo" Adkins; brother, Dave Lane.
A Celebration of Life service will be planned at a later date with burial in Gageville Cemetery.
