Francis Irene Mercer, 86, of Jefferson, OH passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Jefferson Healthcare Center.
She was born April 19, 1939, in Beverly, WV to parents William Frances and Neva Irene (Doerr) Harris and graduated from Beverly High School. On May 16, 1959, she married Franklin Delano Mercer who preceded her in death.
Francis worked for many years as an Aide at Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation and loved taking care of everyone. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, playing cards, listening to music, coloring and word search books.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jean (Mercer) Deehr; grandchildren, Robert Hostutler, his wife Kayla Hostutler and their 7 kids, Michael Taylor and his wife Maricca Taylor and Joshua Deehr, his girlfriend Heather Emmerick and his son.
Francis was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Delano Mercer; parents, William Frances and Neva Irene (Doerr) Harris; maternal grandparents, John J. and Alice C. (Channel) Doerr; paternal grandparents, William C. and Laura K. (Weese) Harris; siblings, Mary Ann (Harris) Sanders, James Lee Harris and William F. Harris, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to all staff at Jefferson Healthcare.
