Frank J. Andrusis, 75, of Austinburg, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 3, 1947 in Derby, Connecticut to Frank G. and Helen F. Andrusis. After graduating from Mentor High School, he served in the US Army in the Vietnam War from April 1968 until December 1970, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. On September 23, 1972, he married Charla Piehl in Willoughby, Ohio, and together they shared more than 50 years of love and memories.
Frank was a member of the Laborers Union 245. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his granddaughters play sports and race, watching wildlife around the property, playing cornhole with his buddies, and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Charla Andrusis of Austinburg; son, Frank Andrusis (Stella Simmons Andrusis); granddaughters, Riley and Adalyn Andrusis; sister, Anna May Willhoite.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Nancy Montgomery.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 5-7pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. In addition, a graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson, Ohio on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Geneva VFW Post 6846 Scholarship Fund, 76 Depot Road, Geneva, Ohio 44041.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
