Garfield Vernon Fay, age 74, of Ashtabula, passed away on December 31st, 2021, at Ashtabula County Medical Center. Born on November 5th, 1947, in Painesville, Ohio, to parents; Charlie Powell and Ida Powell. Garfield was raised by his adoptive Mother, Bertha B. Fay. Garfield married his sweetheart Lena Gail Fay, who passed away on March 13th, 2011. Garfield graduated high school and went on to join the U.S. Army, he later attended College while serving in the Army. He served during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for his service. Garfield enjoyed playing Video Games, spending time with his family and eating out. He is survived by his loving daughter; Garlena Dee Fay-Ramirez, and his beloved grandchildren; David Axle Fay (Holly), Arturo Gomez III, Stephanie Marie Ramirez-Gonzalez, Lorena Anne Ramirez, Brittane Irene Mills, and Francisco Joel Mesa, and his great grandchildren; Edwardo Gonzalez, Axle Jacob Fay, and Ryder Vito Fay. Garfield is also survived by his siblings; Star Fay, and Wendy (Robert) Rossoll. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Mark, Chuck, and Gary Fay.
