Gary Wayne Pratt

Gary Wayne Pratt, 77, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Gary was born April 11, 1949, in Miami, Florida, to Paul Leon Pratt and Martha Pratt (de’Lagneau). He was a graduate of Sylvania High School in Sylvania, Ohio, and went on to attend Stautzenberger College of Drafting in Toledo, Ohio and attended Lakeland Community College in Mentor, Ohio.

On February 12, 1972, Gary married his beloved wife, Bonnie Jean Snyder, in Temperance, Michigan. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, service, and community.

Gary worked as a mechanical engineer and designer, with a career that included Kaiser Engineers, MFG, SCM Chemical, CDM Smith, and Dominion Energy. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1972 (Vietnam in 1971) and subsequently served with the Air National Guard in Ohio from 1972 to 1982.

A lifelong Christian, Gary found joy in woodworking and took pride in working with his hands. Gary was founder/owner of Family Spirit Christian Bookstore in Ashtabula for 13 years. He was also recognized for his contributions to drafting and for his involvement in his community, including mentoring.

Gary will be deeply missed by his wife, Bonnie Pratt (Snyder); his children, Lorie Sue Pratt, and Jeffrey Alan Pratt (Gloria Lopez); his grandchildren, Tyler Kinney, Kaitlyn Kinney (Enos), Alisha Wolfgang, Ruth Carcell, Sandra Pratt, Keaton Pratt, Logan Pratt, Abigail Pratt (Swint), Nevaeh Pratt, Seth Pratt, and Riley Pratt; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Pratt, Lucas Pratt, and Brinley Enos. Also surviving are his brothers, Larry Pratt of Toledo, Ohio, and Paul Douglas Pratt of White Pine, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Kinney (Pratt); his parents, Paul Leon Pratt and Martha Pratt; and his sister, Sandra Pratt.

Family and friends may gather on October 8, 2026, at New Life Assembly of God 1961 Lafevre Rd, Geneva, OH 44041, calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., followed by a service at 12 p.m. Following the service, the burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.

Gary's family extends heartfelt thanks to Homestead II Nursing Facility, Lake West Hospital, Geneva Center for Rehab & Nursing, and Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and compassion they provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Any Pro-life organization, Answers in Genesis, Boys Town, Samaritan's Purse, or Convoy of Hope.
