Gerald Paul Hollis, age 71, of Madison, OH. (formerly of Orwell, OH.), passed away on October 5th, 2026. Gerald was born on November 5th, 1954, to parents, Wilfred and Shirley Hollis in Warren, Ohio. He graduated in 1976 from Pymatuning Valley High School and had a passion for playing football throughout high school. After graduation, Gerald would participate in the Annual Turkey Bowl football game with classmates and alumni. He also umpired many little league baseball games and was an active member of the Jaycees. Gerald worked the majority of his life for Nickles Bakery until the company relocated, then went on to work at Kraftmaid Cabinetry until he retired. He also was active with helping the Orwell Fire Department (as a Volunteer) while he lived in Orwell for many years. When Gerald finally settled in Madison, Ohio, he became an active member of the Madison Senior Center, where he made many friends and was a Board Member for the Center. Gerald thought so highly of his friends at the Madison Senior Center, he loved playing cards, bingo and pool, and also attending the game nights. He proudly taught all his grandchildren how to drive, and he was always at all his children's and grandchildren's sports events and activities cheering them on. Above all, he was a family man at heart and loved spending time with all of his family and his friends. Gerald is survived by his children, Holly Hollis, Chad (Phil) Chan, Jill (Chris) Wadley, and Stephanie (Jesse) Wodrig, and he is also loved and missed by his cherished grandchildren, Alex, Nicholas and Tori, Madelyn, and Rowen and Jude. He also leaves behind his father-in-law, Earl Snyder Sr., his siblings, Brian (Jackie) Hollis, Steven (Julie) Hollis, Mary (Dwain) Weese, brother-in-law, Brian Zolo, sister-in-law, Susan Turnbull, brother-in-law, Earl (Karen) Snyder Jr., and former wife and friend, Leeann Moses. He will also be dearly missed by many aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Shirley Hollis, by his wife, Cheryl (Snyder) Hollis (2001), and by his sister, Kathleen (Hollis) Zolo. Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, from 3-5pm at the Central Congregational Church, 71 Park Street, Madison, OH., 44057. A Funeral Service will begin at 5:00pm at the church. Burial will be held in the future at North Orwell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Gerald's name to the Madison Senior Center, 2938 Hubbard Rd., Madison, OH., 44057.
