Gerardus "Gerry" Dingeman Bouw, 78, of Conneaut, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep as a result of Alzheimer's disease on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
He was born March 15, 1945, in Sliedrecht, Netherlands to the late Gerardus and Hillegonda Bouw. At a young age, Gerry and his family moved to the United States. On December 23, 1979, he married Elisabeth O'Keefe in Parma, Ohio and together they shared almost 44 years of love and memories.
Gerry received his PhD in Astrophysics from Case Western Reserve University. He retired as a professor of Computer Science at Balwin Wallace College. During his career, he was the author of several scientific books and publications.
He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Bouw; children, Benjamin (Rachel) Bouw and Rachel (Jeremy) Pollock; grandchildren, William Bouw, Allison Bouw, Grace Bouw, Levi Pollock, and Leah Pollock; sister, Angie Doohan.
Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerardus and Hillegonda Bouw.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to Hospice of the Western Reserve and Villa at the Lake in Conneaut.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
