Hakim Jamil Welton, affectionately known as "Keem," a beloved Fiancé, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Grandfather, passed away peacefully at UH in Cleveland, OH, after a long battle of heart disease, on January 17, 2026, at the age of 50. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 23, 1975 to Donald Bolden and Vandella Welton. He was a man whose wisdom, warmth, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.  Hakim moved to Painesville, Ohio in 2013 where he met his fiancé Amber who was his partner in life for 13 years at the time of his passing. Hakim had a deep love for his family, especially for his children. Hakim was big on the importance of family and loyalty. Hakim also had a heart of gold, and touched so many peoples lives. Outside of spending time with his family, Hakim was learning more about his walk with Christ and gave his life to the Lord in the hospital. Hakim enjoyed music, reading, ol' school cars, traveling and hanging out with family and friends. He was most at peace sharing stories, and laughter with those he loved. He also got a kick out of playing jokes on people.  Hakim is survived by fiancé Amber Baker; Children, Keira Daniels, Hope Welton, Jacobi Wafer, Jakeem Wafer, Nyrie Walker-Baker, Nyyhan Marlin, Forever Marlin, and My'vel Marlin; Grandson, Major Hill; Siblings, Gerald Welton, Edith Welton, Kim (Napoleon) Nelson, Clarence Welton, Donella Welton, Rafi Welton and Salamah Welton. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins who adored Him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Bolden and Vandella Welton and his nephew, Katima Welton. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of life on January 30th from 1-3pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 29801 Lakeland Blvd, Wickliffe, Oh 44092.
