Hazel A. (Loomis) Housel- age 87, of Pierpont, passed away January 5th, 2022, at Jefferson Healthcare Center with her family by her side. Hazel was born Sept. 18th, 1934, in Painesville, Ohio, to parents Belle Brown and Paul Loomis. She married (the late) Lloyd Housel Sr. on December 20th, 1952. Hazel worked for the Pierpont school systems for 15 years where she retired. She also proudly served as a Deacon in the Pierpont Presbyterian Church for 3 years. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and listening to country music…especially George Strait. Hazel is survived by her loving daughters; Diane (Ralph) Tressler, and Anita (Michael) Kurpyl, and her son-in-law; Artie Spencer. Also surviving her are her beloved grandchildren; Tami Tressler, David Jones, Mike Kurpyl, Nicole Kurpyl, Hazel Bissell, Art Spencer, Angie Pixley, and Anna Spencer, her 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister; Marion Porter, sisters-in-law; Shirley Snyder, Elaine Sundman, and Dorleen Loomis, and many loved nieces and nephews. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd Sr., her daughter Kathy Spencer, her son Lloyd Jr. "Buddy", her grandson DJ "Darayl" Housel, her sister Mabel, and her brothers; Paul, Eugene, Donald, Alvin, and baby brother Bobby who passed at birth. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 7th, 2022, from 4pm-7pm at the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71 OH-7, in Pierpont. A graveside burial will follow on Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at 12pm in Evergreen Cemetery, at 1155 Cemetery Rd. in Pierpont Twp., with Pastor Larry Carr officiating. Memorial donations can be made in Hazel's name to the Pierpont Presbyterian Church.
