Herschel "Hersch" Joseph Anservitz, age 83, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 10th, 2024, at The Lantern of Saybrook.
He was born on August 23rd, 1940, to parents Samuel and Sara Anservitz in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Hersch graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg, PA, and went on to study at both Penn State and the University of Dayton and married his love Donna on December 15th, 1979.
He worked for Rockwell International Brake as a Manager of Product Engineering, GTE-Sylvania, and had a very long and successful career in Manufacturing. Hersch very much enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, University of Kentucky Basketball, driving his RV to NASCAR circuit events, fishing, and gardening. He was the President of the Lions Club of Winchester, KY., Treasurer of Forest Grove Church in Winchester, KY., and was a member of the Rod & Gun Club of Winchester, KY. Hersch was a Christian by faith and was a member of Andover Christian Church in Andover, OH.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; children, Terri (Tom) Wight, Kelly Mlack and Jon Laramie, John (Lori) Anservitz, Timothy Foster and Lee Anne Noce, and Scott (Stephanie) Anservitz; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his loving dog Spade. Hersch was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sara Anservitz; son, Stephen Nelson Foster; and sister, Lois Anservitz.
At this time there are no funeral services, but a celebration of his life is to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004. The family would like to extend many thanks to the Lantern of Saybrook and to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
