Ira Jennings Holbrook, 88, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his home from a sudden illness.
He was born November 30, 1934, in Flatwoods, Kentucky, to parents Ted and Ida (Harmon) Holbrook. He attended Perry Schools and then served in the US Navy from 1953-1957. After his honorable discharge, he worked 50 years as an operating engineer for Local 18. In his spare time, he loved watching the grandkids, stock car racing, and was an avid steelhead and perch fisherman.
Ira is survived by his children, Gary (Cindy), Gerald (Diane), Dean (Devon), and Ryan; companion, Connie Offi; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Donald.
He was preceded in death by his son, Greg; his parents; his siblings, Shelby, Gary Wayne, James, Joann, and Kenny.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 1pm-3pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to Crossroads Hospice and Ira's niece, Anita Holbrook Mills, for all their support.
