James Gerard Baitt ("Jimmy" or "Jim"), 66, of Roaming Shores, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born on September 6, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, James was the son of Edward Baitt and Carol Dobray Baitt. He graduated from Euclid High School, where he earned the distinguished honor of induction into the Euclid High School Football Hall of Fame, reflecting his passion and talent for athletics.
On November 7, 1992, James married the love of his life, Lisa Baitt, at St. Felicitas Church in Euclid, Ohio. Together they built a family that was the center of his life.
James dedicated much of his career to wastewater treatment and also worked with Outdoors Unlimited. He was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand.
An avid outdoorsman, James found his greatest joy fishing, spending time with family and friends, coaching wrestling and football, and listening to music. He was active in a fishing club and was always ready to take on side projects or help those around him. His kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
James is survived by his sons, Joseph (Cassie) Baitt and Joshua (Kai) Baitt; his cherished grandson, Luka; his mother, Carol Baitt; and his brothers, Eddie and Michael Baitt.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa Baitt; father, Edward Baitt; and his sister, Terri Baitt.
A celebration of his life will be held on July 6, 2026 from 6pm-8pm at Chapel Hill Venue, 3381 Austinburg Rd, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
