Obituary

James Allison Fassett, 80, died January 27, 2026, of natural causes at ARMC, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 28, 1945, at Ashtabula General Hospital to Bernard and Hilma Fassett.

On December 11, 1965, he married Kathryn Elaine Moisio at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashtabula, OH.

Jim worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union #435 in Cleveland, Ohio. After many years as a carpenter, he started driving semi-truck with his son Jason.

He was a Navy Veteran aboard the USS Shangri-La where he saw the ports of Greece, Italy and Azores.

Jim is survived by Kathryn Fassett, his wife of 60 years; children, Marne Truckey (Boyd), Jason Fassett, Allison Shaeser (Brett), Jessica Anderson (Mike); grandchildren, Tyler Woodworth (Ashley), Dustin Waid (Caitlin), Stefanie Waid (Blaine), Margot Fassett, Jude Fassett, and Jolene Anderson. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Dakota Prindle, Montana Prindle, Kaden Prindle, Easton Woodworth, Brantley Woodworth, Kehlani Greene, Wyatt Waid, Remington Hargesheimer, Cody Turner, and Keegan Fusco; and his brother, Dr. Richard Fassett (Nancy).

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Hilma Fassett; siblings, Ben Fassett and Julie Hibjan and great-grandson, Cody James Woodworth.

Jim loved spending time with his family, and also loved looking at new cars and reading car magazines, and time spent at the Gulf with his family was very special to him.

We would like to thank the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center in Ashtabula and the van drivers that picked up Jim for dialysis from ACTS Transportation and Country Neighbors.

He was loved by multiple bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10:30am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 89 E Satin St, Jefferson, OH 44047.
