James G. "Jim" Kahler, 68, of Rock Creek, Ohio, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his home.
He was born December 14, 1953 the son of the late Walter and Colleen Kahler.
After graduating from high school, Jim served honorably in the US Army. On August 12, 1995 he married Denise McLaughlin, and together they shared more than 26 years of love and memories.
Jim loved to play music and enjoyed anything to do with nature, especially camping.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Kahler; step-children, Charles Foster and Shannon Foster; grandchildren, Tessa, Ellania, Seth, and Blake; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Iris; step-mother, Ann Kahler; sister, Shirley; half-brother, John Hackney; sister-in-laws, Barbara (Todd) Snyder-Carson and Shari McLaughlin; brother-in-laws, John (Dawn) McLaughlin and Ricky (Doreen) McLaughlin; 10 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Colleen Kahler; in-laws, Richard and Sharon McLaughlin; brother-in-law, Bob Snyder.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 2-4:00pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio.
