James Harold "JJ" Jones, 73, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on March 23, 2026, at 8:30 p.m.
Born on August 19, 1952, in Olean, New York, James was the son of William H. Jones and Harriet C. (Moland) Jones.

James retired from Mohawk Fine Papers after many years of dedicated service. He was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in his career.

On November 7, 2009, he married Debra D. Jones at Mechanicsville Bridge, beginning a cherished chapter of companionship and love.

He had a passion for NASCAR racing and was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2243, for 18 years. He also enjoyed attending Pink Floyd concerts and spending time with family and friends, often sharing laughs and good times.

James is survived by his loving wife, Debra D. Jones; his children, Brandon (Jen) Jones, Juliet (Chuck) Petterson, Kevin (Zoey) Jones, Jamie (Adrian) Miller, and Courtney Tupa (Pete Koma); and his cherished grandchildren, Xander Jones, Hanah Jones, Zephyr Jones, Jackson Tupa, Rhett Miller, Raegan Miller, Kylie and Carter Koma. He is also survived by his father, William Jones; siblings, Jerry (Tamy) Jones, Joe (Amy) Jones, Cindy (Randy) Cowan, and Tina (Gary) Wheeler; along with many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet C. Jones, and his sister, Nancy Howard.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 370 State Street, Conneaut, Ohio 44030.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests taking a moment to honor James in his own way—by going to The Grand River Manor for a shot and a beer!
