Obituary

James Clark Spragg, 59, of Madison, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH, from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born on January 5, 1966, in Berea, OH, to James and Florence Spragg, and was a graduate of Madison High School class of 1984. James was an Eagle Scout for Troop 159 Boy Scouts and was a member of the Order of the Arrow for Scouts. He worked at Action Muffler for many years and most recently worked for Lukjan Metal Products in Conneaut for 16 years prior to his retirement. James was a proud member of Sons of the American Legion Post 601 for 36 years where he held multiple positions and was a member of the Color Guard and Honor Guard. He was a Christian in faith, he loved fishing with his kids, auto racing, and going camping. James is survived by his wife, Barb Spragg; children, Curtis Spragg, Kyle Spragg, Jacob (Jess) Spragg, and Nicole (Austin) Spragg; granddaughters, Delcie Rose and Brooklyn Grace; father, James Spragg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Linda Spragg; mother, Florence A. Spragg; grandparents Clark and Edna Crile; and sisters, Sheila Spragg, and Pam Simerlink. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the American Legion Post 601, 1725 Hubbard Rd, Madison, OH 44057. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Post 601. The family would like to thank the medical staff and doctors at Seidman Cancer Center, and the members of American Legion Post 601.
