James Leo Vonderau, 74, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio, on January 10, 1951, to parents Mamie & Frank Vonderau. He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1969. Shortly after he married the love of his life, Jennie Licate. The two shared a beautiful 50 years together. James was employed throughout his life at RMI and Lubersol. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother-in-law, sitting on his back patio listening to music and most of all visiting with his family and friends. James is survived by his loving wife, Jennie Licate Vonderau; his children, Jeremy Vonderau and Jessica (Matt) Wood; granddaughter, Shelby Wood; siblings, Mary Vonderau of Chicago, IL and Frank Vonderau of Chicago, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mamie Vonderau; siblings, Frances Ethruman and Elizabeth Vonderau. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at ARMC, from the kitchen staff, to the ER staff, all nurses and doctors.
