Jane K. Huskonen, of Ashtabula, Ohio, resident of Austinburg Nursing and Rehab, passed away on February 24, 2024. Born on Dec. 5th, 1949, she was the daughter of loving parents Harold R. and Lillian [Kujanpa] Huskonen, and sister to her mentor and advocate, Kay. She was a graduate of Ashtabula High School, Ashtabula, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her niece, Melissa, and her parents.
Jane is survived by her sister, Kay L. Heath, brother-in-law-Richard, nephew Maximilian Mitchell, and, cousin Marita Rinas. She and Marita were but a phone call away and depended on their regular updates.
She was a long service employee of Goodwill Industries in Ashtabula, where she was blessed with friendship among many co-workers and customers. A special bond was formed with Lou Spencer, an advocate for her niece, who assisted her in the transition to independent living.
Her life was substantially enriched by the unqualified support and love of Emily Fisher. As a retired school principal and local notable, Emily was able to provide considerable joy to Jane through friendship, social events, and the community of the First Presbyterian church.
Her family is greatly appreciative of the personal attention and professional care provided by Lillian Sharp and her entire staff at Austinburg Rehab. Jane considered them as a true family.
