Obituary

Jeffrey Scott Gildersleeve, 65, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away on March 17, 2026, at his home after a long illness.
Born on October 15, 1960, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Jeff was the son of John and Barbara Gildersleeve. He was a proud graduate of Jefferson Area Schools and spent much of his life in the community he called home.
Jeff was an Army veteran who served his country with honor. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, as well as his enthusiasm for NASCAR and Cleveland sports, including baseball and football. He was also an avid bowler who enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his former spouse, Lisa Porter; his children, Michael Meredith (Tasha), Kimberly Phillips (James), and Candace; and several beloved grandchildren, including Pamela, Peyton, Oliver, Braxton, Jeremiah, and Trista. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Gildersleeve; siblings, Regina Burk, Tom (Eileen) Gildersleeve, and Pamela (Phil Bradshaw) Miller, and nephews, John, Michael, and James.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Gildersleeve, and his nephew, Jason Gildersleeve.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 4pm-6pm at Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, OH 44041.
Jeff will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
