Jeffrey Larmore Stone, 52, of Harpersfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born on March 3, 1974, in Geneva, Ohio, and was a graduate of Geneva High School.
From a very young age, Jeff had a deep love for farming and the family farm. As early as three years old, he could be found riding on the tractor alongside his grandfather, George, working on the family farm. Jeff was a genuine farmer at heart. He spent countless hours in the fields and in the barn, tending to his cattle. Farming was more than a way of life for Jeff—it was his passion and consumed his every thought and dream.
Jeff’s family and his farm were at the center of his life and his dreams. Running Stone’s family farm was his life’s goal, and he took great pride in his ability to operate the farm and maintain its equipment. He worked at the farm and, after graduation, also worked with his father part-time at the family business, BS Trucking. He also spent several years working at Sabo’s Nursery, where he said he learned a great deal about the nursery business.
Jeff was happiest when his family was around. He enjoyed watching YouTube and seeing how other farmers around the world managed their farms. He was always interested in new equipment but especially enjoyed running the tractors that his great-grandfather had used.
Among Jeff’s many interests were astrology, weather, farm expos, Cleveland sports, the Dallas Cowboys, and country music. Above all, he enjoyed the simple things in life, especially being with his family and spending time doing what he loved most—farming.
Jeff was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by his children, Mardie M. Stone and Gabe L. Stone, both of Harpersfield; his mother, Shelley Stark-Still, of Jefferson; his half-brothers, Shawn (Christine) Spade of Harpersfield and Chad Spade (Nora) of Austinburg; his half-sister, Shana Spade Imler (Max) of Mentor; his stepmother, Janie Burkholder Spade of Mentor; his half-sister, Jennifer (Terry) Hejduk of Rome; his uncle, Larry Stone of Harpersfield; and his aunt, Robin (DeWayne) Nicholes of Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry “Butch” Spade, and his grandparents, George L. and Clara Stone.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.
