John Wayne Donathan, 73, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away December 23, 2022, in Madison Healthcare.
He was born November 1, 1949, in Rockcamp, West Virginia, the son of the late John Henry and Margie (Martin) Donathan.
John loved gardening and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger, and always greeted everyone with a smile and made friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his children, Susie (Michael) Cosper, Shawn (Beth) Donathan, and Nikki (Donald) Townsend; grandchildren, Brittany, Dillon, Briana, Sarah, Christopher, and Melanie; great-grandchildren, Callie, Lilli, Steven, Sophia, Jordon, Oliver, Adi, and Jonah; siblings, Hattie May Hills, Thelma Lazanis, and Kenny Lee Donathan.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Margie (Martin) Donathan; siblings, Danny Lee Donathan, Hershel Donathan, Goldie Smith, Abby Kidd, and Mary Jo Donathan.
Calling hours will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. Burial will be in the family plot in Denmark Cemetery.
