John Adam Higley, 53, of Pierpont, Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday, December 12, 2024 with his wife and daughters at his bedside.
John was born December 10, 1971 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was the eldest son of Deborah K. Higley. John married the love of his life on March 9, 1999 and together raised their three children. John attended Jefferson Area Local Schools graduating in the Class of 1990. He went on to obtain his Associate Degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from DeVry University and later received an additional certification in Electromechanical Instrumentation.
John worked as an electrician for Textron Turbine Engine Components until his heart attack and heart transplant. Since then, John has faced many health challenges over the last 20+ years with his devoted wife, Julie, always at his side. Their love for each other and faith in God always saw him through the difficult challenges.
John was baptized with his family in July of 2015 at Andover United Methodist Church. John played the role of an outstanding man and friend in so many peoples lives. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and share his experience and knowledge with those around him. Effortlessly, he would always make you laugh with his sense of humor that was truly like no other. John enjoyed many hobbies that included spending time outdoors, fishing and going to camp with his buddies. John had a lifelong passion for learning, always picking up new interesting hobbies along the way. While at home, John loved listening to music and watching the Buffalo Bills play football. John especially cherished hunting and spending time with his lifelong best friend, Ryan Otto. Most of all he loved to share laughter and time with his family. John had immense pride in his kids and especially his grandkids who love their Papa endlessly. John's deep love for his children and grandchildren was evident as he guided them through important life lessons and cheered them on at each milestone and event in their lives.
