John Gearin, Jr., age 57, of Euclid, OH passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
He was born on January 19, 1969, in Cincinnati, OH the son of the late John Gearin, Sr. and Mary (nee George) Gearin and graduated from East Technical High School.
John was the Common Law husband of Lynn Barensfeld and they spent many years together.
He worked as an auto mechanic for Nick Mayer Ford in Mayfield Heights and was a proud member of I.A.M. Local #1363 for the past 2 years. In his free time, he enjoyed sport shooting, fishing, camping and studying military history.
John is survived by his Common Law wife, Lynn Barensfeld of Newburg Heights; stepdaughters, Monica Barensfeld and Brittany (Bill) Goins; grandchildren, Carmella, Khloe, Isabella, Jo-Jo, Alice and William; mother-in-law, Barbara Soleski; sisters, Diane J. Janes and Michelle L. Gearin; nephews, Erik M. Hurley and Matthew J. Klein.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gearin, Sr. and Mary (nee George) Gearin.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 29801 Lakeland Blvd, Wickliffe, OH 44092.
